I started Give Me Shelter Design in 2001. I wanted to have a creative business of my own that would center around meeting the design and lifestyle goals of my clients. I had just recovered from breast cancer and I only wanted to do what I love no matter what. I was very young when this happened and it brought about many other changes in my life along with a heightened awareness of the importance of the environments we live and work in.
Suzan Horne's interior designing skills were honed when she worked for Knoll International in 1985. The company branched out to carpets, fabrics and furniture, which gave Suzan the opportunity to become familiar with commercial and residential products. She had easy access to their showroom and would often meet interior designers, along with their clients. Her personal taste was respected and appreciated by those who visited the showroom.
The most flattering thing is when they tell me that I have free reign, because they have come to trust my solutions and no longer feel they need to monitor the process...they know the results will work on all levels needed.
Suzan certainly knows her craft. She can transform the look of your home into something you never thought possible. In fact, her previous client from Fern Dell owns a home that's now considered the most distinctive one in the area.
