FAQs
- What types of customers have you worked with?
In the 12 years I have used hypnosis, it seems that the most common issues that I have been presented with which I chose (along with the client's agreement) to use hypnosis for are: anxiety, depression (often resulting from irrational or negative beliefs and self talk), child birth, and test taking/exam performance. Those are the most common, but I have also used hypnosis with people seeking help with side effects from chemotherapy, relaxation and sleep issues, fertility issues, libido issues, along with more uncommon things like difficulty with swallowing, self-motivation and decreased procrastination, and spiritual issues. I'm sure that together we can find a way to work with whatever gets in the way of your success!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would suggest that someone considering hypnosis make sure they find a provider who has adequate experience and training -- this is not the kind of skill that one acquires overnight. Make sure the provider has worked with people who were addressing issues similar to yours. Ask questions about how the therapist would work with that particular issue. Make sure it makes sense to you and you find someone with whom you feel comfortable so that you can choose to participate in hypnosis because without making that most basic choice, no one can "hypnotize" you. It's always YOUR choice. It is not something the hypnotist does to you (contrary to what you may have seen on stage or television).
