Question and answer
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Look on the internet for references. People are reluctant today to allow their personal information to be used in any way and rightfully so. The internet provides an opportunity to leave a review while keeping one's personal information secure. See our reviews on Google Places, Yahoo! Local, Angie's List, Merchant Circle, Insider Pages and Yelp!,
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. While window cleaning is not rocket science, there are a few things that a professional window cleaner should always be paying attention to. Doing quality work and the client - their home, furnishings and property. See our website for window cleaning tips for around the home.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. I would suggest that everyone always ask for references. In today's world, people are reluctant to offer their contact information to just anyone but there are a variety of websites that offer people an opportunity to leave reviews of the work performed by local companies and these sites should be checked.
Some of these sites are Google Places, Yahoo! Local, Bing Business Listings, Manta, Insider Pages, Mojo and others.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. Monterey Window Cleaning is the only professional window cleaning service on the Monterey Peninsula that offers clients truly personal attention.
I can say that because I don't send someone else out to clean windows for me. I do all of my own work so I have complete control over the quality of the work and the quality of the customer service.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. Probably the most satisfying thing about being a professional window cleaner is that people are always so happy with the finished product and consequently, with me. After all, who doesn't like to have perfectly clean windows?
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. The most common question my window cleaning clients ask is, "What kind of a solution do you use for cleaning the windows?"
Any kind of window cleaning solution works. I always add some bio-degradable dish washing detergent to the solution to create some suds. It's the suds that hold the dirt off the glass so you're wiping the solution off the window with your squeegee rather than just smearing the dirt around.
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. The message I try to relay to all of my window cleaning clients is that Monterey Window Cleaning actually is different.
The difference is that I do all of my own work so I have complete control of quality and customer service.
Monterey Window Cleaning isn't interested in becoming the biggest window cleaning company on the peninsula or 'cornering the market'. I believe there are some basic principles involved in successfully operating a small business that can't help but be compromised when someone is bidding all the work they can, then sending whoever they can find out to actually do the work.
When that happens, quality control and customer service has to suffer. It's inevitable!

I really like the job Ross did for me. He had to shuffle some things around to squeeze me in because I was in a hurry to get the windows done and he was very gracious about it. The windows look like they're not even there. Thanks Ross.

Ross does a great job of washing my windows. He never misses and appointment and he always has a really great attitude. I had this other company call me once soliciting work and they quoted a price that was a little bit cheaper than Ross was asking so I tried them out. The guy on the phone was smooth and polite but the man they sent out to do the job was rude and crabby. He acted like he was doing me a favor by being there. I hate that. I won't say what the name of the company was but I'll never use them again. Ross has been doing my windows now for years.

Ross did a great job on my windows and I was really impressed with his service. He moved really fast but still took very special care of everything. And he wasn't in a hurry to get done and leave because he volunteered to help me move some boxes into the garage. (at no charge) Great worker and a very kind man. Super A+
