Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. When hiring a professional photographer, in particular an architectural photographer, there are a few key points to note before making your decision. 1) Speak to the photographer before hand, and make sure that you and the photographer share the same vision. 2) Investigate their portfolio. Make sure their work reflects a consistent, wide range of projects and clients. 3) Research the photographers client list. A good reference from an established business goes a long way.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. There are many, many photographers claiming to be "professionals" in this digital day and age. As with any good product, you get what you pay for. Make sure your budget reflects the quality of work which your business does.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. People tend to assume that all photography is the same, which unfortunately leads them down a path of unsuccessful images. Hire a photographer that specializes in a particular field. An architectural photographer has a much different skill set that a fashion photographer, car photographer, or wedding photographer. Although there are some photographers that can proficiently shoot many types of photography, the vast majority will have one genre which their business is based on.
