At Harvard Cookie Girl, we like to enrich young lives, one little tummy at a time. That is to say that we like to teach healthy eating habits to children from the get-go.

It is important to instill ideas of nutrition and wholesome meals into their heads before it's too late, and they are no longer as impressionable.

Harvard Cookie Girl teaches about the ingredients that go into the foods we create. Why cinnamon? Why not white sugar? Why is fiber good for you? What role do specific vitamins play in our bodies?

Your kids will love our hands on method in teaching and getting them to try new things. They will feel connected to the food and the process. They will practice measuring, reading recipes, following directions, and so much more. Plus, they will enjoy a healthy snack.

Question and answer

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. We have a beautiful, inviting kitchen space that draws kids into the cooking mentality. We let the kids work independently when possible, supervising and advising if necessary. They feel so accomplished when they leave here! Plus, they know why what they did was healthy and beneficial for them.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love seeing kids coming into class unwilling to try new things. Then after completing the recipe and cooking the food, they try what they have created, and they love it! It is so gratifying to me, as a teacher.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Why are these cookies good for you? Well, we left out the white sugar, which goes undetected. We also used dark chocolate. Dark chocolate is good in moderation, it contains flavonoids and it's heart healthy if enjoyed on occasion. It is definitely a better option than milk chocolate! And homemade cookies are are much healthier than store bought, mostly because they contain none of the preservatives found in packaged cookies.
