FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I first learn as much as I can about the customer's project and their needs/wants. I also make sure to learn what kind of audience the customer is targeting. Depending on how extensive the work is, I may take my customer through a branding exercise to get an idea of how they envision their online presence. I'll then move on to some rough sketches and share them with my customer until they're satisfied. Next, I'll move on to higher fidelity designs and review them with my customer as well as potential members of their audience (with the customer's permission, of course). This process will continue until my customer is satisfied! Finally, everything will be coded to the exact specifications of the design, tested, and delivered.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've gone through the design curriculum within the cognitive science department at UC San Diego. I'm currently studying human-computer interaction as well as computer science. I'll soon be working as a product designer in the Bay Area.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure to find someone who can really understand your vision and be able to execute it! Your online presence means a lot these days so you don't want to run into any mishaps or creative differences down the road.
