Seek out a teacher who has a solid education - at least a bachelors if not a masters in music. Their years of experience and in-depth training makes a HUGE difference in their effectiveness of teaching.

To become proficient at music or dance requires dedication. Our media shows success stories of artists who audition a few times, earn a spot in a competition, and instantly achieve fame. There is much more to making music or becoming a refined dancer. The real joy and benefit from the arts comes when you dedicate yourself and put in hard work even when you don't feel like it, or when other people do not notice or applaud your efforts. Becoming an artist develops the whole person from inside out. Whether you pursue it as a hobby or are seeking a career in the arts, I really enjoy guiding people towards a greater appreciation for and love of the arts!
