We offer services for DJ, KJ and master of ceremonies. I provide these services for weddings, car shows, bike shows, private parties, clubs and corporate events. I include dance floor lighting, when appropriate, and other special effects at no additional charge.
Unlike a lot of DJs who stand behind their equipment, I interact with the crowd, working the floor and entertaining them with dancing, games and trivia to insure everyone has a good time.
I have a database of over 1,000,000 (miilion) songs, so requests are always welcome.
Question and answer
Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. I perform at all types of events, including car shows, motorcycle shows, themed parties, karaoke parties, weddings, senior events, veteran events, store openings and corporate events. Themed parties are one of my favorites as I can dress accordingly and easily become part of the party. I also especially enjoy events that salute our veterans and our country. Senior events are especially fulfilling as they enjoy listening to music as well as dancing and sharing some great memories from their youth.
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Look for someone with experience who truly enjoys what they do. Try to insure that the service provider is personable, interacts with guests and is willing to respond to your needs before, after and during the event. Remember, anyone can plug in an ipod, but to make an event a success, the service provider must be energetic and personable.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. One-on-one personal service with the client from the first meeting until the conclusion of the event. Complete guest interaction during the event to keep things moving and an enjoyable experience for everyone. Huge database of music which guarantees requests are met.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. Playing music, interacting with people and satisfaction in knowing the event was successful. I love to entertain and strive for perfection at every event. Every event involves detailed planning so that the results are flawless. Meeting new people and being able to accomodate their musical requests is very fulfilling.
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. Q: What can you do to insure my guests have a good time?
A: I make everyone feel welcome and a part of the event. I interact with guests through games, trivia and dancing,
Q: What kind of music do you play?
A: My database allows me to play whatever you would like to hear, from country to hip-hop.
Q: Can you MC and direct the entire event in addition to playing music?
A: Absolutely! I can host the event at the client's direction or I can assist someone else as needed.
Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?
A. My shows generally turn in to "stump the dj" by the end of the event and I am proud to say that thus far, no one has been successful. During one event, a former professional drummer asked if I had a particular song which he had played drums on approximattely 50 years earlier. My only question was had it been recorded and he stated that it had, though it never really sold any records. Amazingly enough, I had the recording and was able to play it. Every event provides a story which can be looked on with fondness, from bridal miscues to karaoke performances.
Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?
A. I love all types of music and I love to entertain an audience. I love to dance and easily encourage others to do so. There is an excitement that is created when people are having fun and that excitement is what creates a high energy performance. Musicians always speak of nerves prior to going on stage, but once you start playing, the energy generated from the crowd eliminates those nerves and fuels that excitement.
Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.
A. I was requested to perform at a wedding and reception. The challenging aspect to this request was that the wedding was in the couple's back yard and the reception was 20 miles away. I performed at the wedding, broke down, made it to the reception hall, set up again and was ready to go, all within 2 hrs. Both the wedding and the reception were very successful to the point that the happy couple increased the contracted rate. This was a very satisfying event and the couple was truly appreciative.
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. I am a member in good standing with the National Association of Mobile Entertainers. They are constantly offering information on the latest and greatest in DJ techniques, equipment and new and exciting effects. In addition, they offer a DJ message board for DJ's to discuss relevant topics, ask questions and gain insightful information to make each performance that much better. In any business, you must strive to increase your knowledge in order to improve your skills. In addition, I learn something, no matter how seemingly unimportant it might be, from every performance.
