Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. We do a lot of bathroom remodels complete shower or tub demo. New vanity's and tile floor. Most of the time there is water damage so we will replace rotted out wood, fix plumbing, install soap niches, raise shower heads, waterproofing. We do it all so the customer does not have worry about it.

Q. Describe three recent jobs you've completed.

A. We just finished installing 450 sq. ft. of tile flooring in Huntington Beach. Two rooms the front room the owner wanted a border with a diagonal inlay.
We installed glass mosaic tiles on an outside bar with a granite top.
We had a job in Long Beach where we tore out a fiberglass shower enclosure and installed a tile shower stall, built a new dam and hot mopped it. Prepped the walls for ceramic tile. So they had a new tile shower stall that will last for years to come.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Get references even go look at some of his work. Check there license, liability, bonded, workers comp. Home owners need to do there home work and back ground checks on who they are going to hire. If I to my job right the home owner should never see me again an less they want me to do more work.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I am a perfectionist, I like what I do because it is always different. I work with a lot of designers so sometimes the work is complex and difficult. Many times the home owner will pick tile and we help with design.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. I like to go in starting a job knowing just what the home owner wants. That way when the job is finished everybody is happy. Our company still does prep work the old fashion way with lathe and plaster. When you see some of these old tile bathrooms and the tile is 40 or 50 years old and still is in great condition it is because of the prep work before it is installed. I like to know when I'm done my job will last just as long.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. All the time, home owners will select some new product that has to be installed a certain way with special adhesives. New products come out like kerdi system or ditra, and schulter products. I have gone to these classes to get educated and certified so I can install these products with confidence so I know that it is installed properly.

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. We finished a 6000 sq.ft. home in Long Beach on the water, where we installed 24x24 travertine tiles 2400 sq. ft. also had three bathrooms with showers and all walls having a 40'' wainscot, kitchen countertop and backsplash. We had 6 employees working on the job for about one month. Materials and labor for this project was a little over $100,000.00

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. I bid everything by the square foot, demo I need to look at to try and figure how long it will take. I tell owner what ever damage is behind the tear out will be extra we don't know what we are in for until we see what is there.
