Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Spend a decent amount of time talking with creative and marketing consultants. You'll get a pretty good idea if you can work together during those initial discovery sessions. The consultant should be able to share with you a portfolio of relevant work to qualify them for the proposed assignment or project. The consultant should be up-to-speed on the latest marketing tools and strategies and give you clear examples of how to use them to help your business in a positive and measurable way.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Knowing solid, proven marketing techniques are essential to success. Understanding the meaning of "'inbound marketing" is an advantage that many businesses don't have. Being found "By those who are searching for your type of products and services" is critical in today's smarter and faster marketplace. Traditional advertising is not usually the best way to spend your precious marketing dollars these days.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Do you do the work yourself or is it outsourced?
Do you have a professional website with examples of your work, including client testimonials?
How long have you been in business?

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. The specific type of expertise needed.
The understanding that good marketing costs money and is an investment in your business
That when you are hiring a creative professional, it is their time that has value and that is what you are paying for; creative ideas.
