Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. Moving, storage and shipping services for college students, military families and seniors. Our services include college storage, global shipping, household moves, packing and moving supplies.
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Look for a provider who has an exceptional relationship with customers. Hire a company who doesn't charge extra for shipping. Some companies will charge handling fee or extra amount on top of shipping rates. The same is true for household moving. Some movers will charge for moving equipment, furniture pads, insurance, furniture disassembly/assembly and many other add on fees. Ask questions before hiring a mover what add on fees they charge.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. The shipping process and rates are a mystery to most consumers. What most people don't know is how shipping rates are calculated by the carriers. Shipping carriers such as FedEx, UPS, DHL and the U.S. Post Office are based on 7 factors and "ancillary" fees. So here's what you need to know when shipping.
Are you ready? Here goes! The seven factors are: box dimensions; weight; zip/postal code; delivery type (residential/commercial); declared value; delivery time; and if the delivery destination is residential or commercial. These 7 factors determine your shipping "rate". Give us a call to assist with your moving and shipping. We know the process!

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. The most common question comes when college students are moving out and they haven't planned for it. Can you store my stuff? is the most common question. Our response is always "yes".
Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?
A. Many times when we're on college campuses we assist students and parents not using our services. Helping make the college or residential move simple is our passion. We know families have enough to deal with when moving.
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. Movers work hard getting heavy furniture out of homes and offices. Summer is the busiest time and the heat means movers drink a lot of water. If you can offer a drink of water the movers stay hydrated get the move done quickly.
Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?
A. Two different experiences were the driving force for starting our business. As a former The UPS Storage franchisee we saw students and parents come in to ship boxes to college. Realizing this was an under served opportunity we decided to start College Storage Services. Helping students transition to college and move-out started our passion to serve this market. Years later my father needed to be moved from his assisted living apartment. Searching and finding someone to move and pack his belongings was difficult. I realized this was needed among other seniors living near my dad. Making the search easy for families and serving others with moving, storage and shipping services became a passion.
