Piano lessons are given at my studio, one hour weekly.

Emphasis on reading musical notation, learning to deal with the full range of rhythmical patterns and musical styles, and developing technique that will enable you to play almost any type of music from baroque to jazz. Ear training, sight reading and music theory are included in my services.

These lessons are fun if you're willing to practice! Students acquire skills that enable them to play with the elegance and ease, leading to a personal enjoyment of music.

When students are ready they may join a more formal performance class, which offers the opportunity to play on-stage twice a year before a live audience.

I have over 25 years of experience in teaching and professional training.

Question and answer

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. The foundations of my teaching philosophy are:
Primary goal: to teach the student how to learn; more specifically, the skills of home practicing.
Empowerment is the key to motivation. The strongest motivation for success is success, which
can be achieved through focused home practice, supported by parental encouragement and
guidance.
Piano lessons should be exciting and challenging. They are a privilege, not a punishment or a
requirement.
Studying and playing the piano are not always easy, but it always should be satisfying.
Learning to play the piano requires a significant investment in time and commitment on the part
of the student and the parent(s). I am committed to providing effective and knowledgeable
instruction, suited to the individual, in an atmosphere of positive encouragement.
Practicing, completing theory assignments and participating in studio activities and recitals are to
have the same high priority as school homework.
I am a performance-oriented piano teacher. I encourage, prepare and require students to
perform on the formal and informal piano parties at my studio. Making music is a joy for the
student, parents and the teacher. The student’s rewards include creative expression,
accomplishment, self- confidence and self-exploration!

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I believe that studying music is a vital part of a person’s education. Creating music at the piano
involves the development of both physical coordination and the mental ability to read, understand
and interpret the music. By combining the physical and mental skills with emotion - the love of
music – the piano becomes one of the most personal means of human communication and
expression.
Teaching music is my love and livelihood. I do it because it brings me joy and challenge. The
opportunity to assist others in the making of music is a thrill and I value and respect each and
every one of my students. My goal is to motivate and challenge my students to be the best
musician he/she can be. The enrichment and joy of making music goes well beyond the
parameters of basic music education. The pleasure of making music can be expressed and
experienced throughout a lifetime bringing fulfillment and harmony to the mind and soul.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. How soon I will be able to play?
Playing a musical instrument is like creating a fine painting; it takes practice, patience and a love of the subject. Music is a fun and exciting art. It is also a creative discipline. The reward of
regular, dedicated piano practice is the joy of making fine music.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. My musical training was from the classical European tradition, where mastering refined technique opened the student to the entire range of musical experience, from the subtly simple to majestically complex. In my experience with my students, I verified, that taking care to instill these fundamental skills is the most consistent factor in eventual sense of accomplishment and satisfaction for my students.
As music students have been told since the first lesson, "it is not just playing the notes right; it is hearing the music that notes only point to." That is the lesson, the art, the meaning of learning to play the instrument.
Through my 25 years as a professional teacher, I kept that conviction alive and growing in my students lives.
