Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. For event bookings, the most important details are as follows:

Date and time of the event
Estimated number of attendees
Total budget for the event or per person

Since we are a mobile food truck, we also need to have parking reserved for us at the venue.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Does Don Chow Tacos cater for weddings? Other events? Of course! DCT enjoys spreading the "Chino Meets Latino" truck experience to all special events! We also cater for Film Television and Commercial sets, Festivals, Birthdays, Meetings, Churches or any other Special Event.

How much is the DCT service charge? Should I pay an additional gratuity? Our current service charge is 15% for any order of $100 or more for catered events. Gratuity can be added or given at the time of the event, at your own discretion.

Does DCT require a minimum order? How is the food served? Yes, our minimum food orders start at $500. Our food is served from the truck and we do not recommend putting them in chaffing trays.
What is the travel fee and how is it determined? The travel fee makes it possible for us to provide service (labor and utilities) to your area. If the event is within 8 miles of our commissary, the travel fee is waived and anything beyond that we charge per mile.

Do I need to provide a permit for DCT to cater my event? If you are located in LA, you will not need to obtain a permit. Outside cities may require $90-$350 in permit fees, unless we will be parking on private property (in which case, permits may not be required). Please check with your city for its requirements.

I have just sent an email request for catering services - does this mean I have booked the event? No, it is just an email. In order to secure your event, you will need to sign the DCT proposal and pay the 50% deposit.
The price quotes have gone up since the last time we talked, can you honor the old prices? Unfortunately, unless a proposal is signed with the old prices by both DCT and the client, we must adhere to our current prices.

Does DCT provide trash cans, plates, utensils and napkins? Yes we do!

How far in advance should I book DCT for an event? We cannot always guarantee open time slots, so the sooner you book the quicker you can secure the date. Events must be booked by Friday, 12noon, the week prior to the event. Please send us an email so we can draw up a proposal for you.

What form of payments do you accept? DCT accepts cash, all major credit cards, cashier & personal checks (checks must be received 10 business days prior to the event for clearance, payable to: Don Chow Tacos, Inc). There is a $35 charge for any bounced/returned checks.

Is the deposit refundable? DCT requires a 50% deposit to secure any event. If your event is cancelled:
30 or more days prior to the event date, the full deposit will be refunded
15-29 days prior to event, ½ of the deposit will be refunded
4-14 days prior to event, the full deposit will be retained by DCT
3 days or less prior to the event, the full amount of the event will be retained/owed to DCT
