Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Transpersonal Counseling:
If you and/ or your partner are a spiritual person and struggling in the following areas, then Transpersonal counseling may be the right fit for you.
* Anger issues
* Depression / Anxiety
* Relationship barriers
* Self-esteem barriers
* work related barriers
* Sexual trauma
Shamanic Healing Practices:
If you and your partner are having difficulty in the following areas and would like to incorporate spirituality into your sessions or to consult ancestral and spiritual guides, dreams, and visions, go on vision quests or inner journeys then shamanic counseling can be the right direction for you.
* Communication barriers
* Financial barriers
* Parenting issues
* Sexual barriers
Shamanic healing can be an empowering experience if you feel moved to do work that requires you to enter into a trance state as a way to access information about your life and your direction. Typically individuals who are drawn to shamanic healing practices have a very involved and rich inner life that allows them to readily access these altered states without losing touch with day to day functioning. These altered states can be accessed through the use of fire talks, imagery/ guided visualization, music, and drumming.
Therapeutic Touch:
If you or a loved one have been suffering from chronic body pain, digestive problems, eating disorders or migraine headaches and have been to conventional doctors without finding relief then you may benefit from Therapeutic Touch.
Mindfulness Meditation:
If you, your partner or your children are dealing with chronic stress, negative self talk, hypertension, hyperactivity, depression, anxiety, fear, anger, worry or low self-esteem, mindfulness meditation can be a very helpful intervention. It is relatively easy to learn, has no side effects and is a very cost effective approach to stress reduction. It can also be a wonderful spiritual practice to utilize as a way to enhance the quality of life. If you are looking to find relief from stress, physical and emotional pain, or develop a spiritual practice, then this is a wonderful tool to learn.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. You can go to a shamanic healer or a psychotherapist and benefit greatly from one or the other. Having a background in both of these areas enables me to work with individuals who have a very specific need to work with a spiritually oriented therapist.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. How do you work?
What makes you different from other shamanic healers/ psychotherapists?
What is your background, training and education?
How long have you been practicing your trade?
What were some of the obstacles that you had to deal with in order to do what you are doing now?
Have you had shamanic healing/ psychotherapy for yourself? why or why not?
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. While I am seeing you as a client, is it OK if I get involved with other types of healing practices (i.e. Reiki, Chi Gong, psychotherapy, Chakra/ Energy work, etc.)?
Ans: There is a time and place for doing different types of healing but one needs to be careful about taking on many different modalities for healing all at the same time. This is equivalent to taking five different meds at the same time. Each medicine serves its own purpose, mixing up different medicines is often contra indicated because of the complications it can cause. The same applies here.
