- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Since all of our designs are custom, we don't have a set price we can give you like a caterer does (like $40 per person) We don't change pricing however, no matter the type of the event - ordering string lights would be the same for a birthday, corporate event or wedding - and so can give you starting pricing point estimates and go from there.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Marc Weinstock, owner of PEL, first started in the lighting industry by installing professional holiday lighting in homes and businesses (in fact our sister company, Santa's Helpers Lighting, still does!) Soon, the country clubs, corporate companies, and other clients began asking him to bring lighting for special events. A few team members - and a zillion weddings and events later - PEL is what it is today! Magdalena, Jenny, Dani, and our wonderful installation teams are so happy to be a part of the occasions that make life special year-round.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Don't think we are automatically out of your price range. We work with all kinds of budgets, and really an extra $200 in the lighting budget can make a design extraordinary. Also, when we recommend a certain number of lights for a room, its not because we want to charge you for 10 more, itâs because we know what will look amazing, and what will leave your guests in darkness (and then its only us and you that knew we went with a lower amount, not everyone commenting on the photo on Facebook).
