Introduction: Certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Nutrition Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), CPR/AED certified, and professionally insured. Competitive Muay Thai fighter & trainer. I also hold a BS in psychology. I've been working in the fitness industry for nearly 10 years, and have trained over 100 clients ranging in age from 8-93. Athletes looking for an edge on the field or in the ring, people preparing for physical tests in the police academy or military, average folks who just want to look better and feel stronger, older folks who want more independence in daily activities and improvement in quality of life, people who have been struggling with weight their whole life, people who have been living with chronic joint pain for years and have had to limit their physical activities because of it, younger guys who want to pack on muscle and strength, younger girls who want to feel fit and confident. I have a vast knowledge of anatomy & physiology, nutrition, strength training, mobility, and boxing/kickboxing/Muay Thai. This is not just "boxercise"—I have trained in Muay Thai for 10 years, trained with professional fighters in Thailand and competed in the ring. Prior to that I trained in Shotokan Karate for 9 years. I can teach anyone of any age or physical ability how to defend themselves in real-life situations, or just for a fun new way to do cardio and learn real techniques at the same time! Helping people. It may sound cliché but for me that is one of the most important things in life. The motivation to help others is what drives me to be good at what I do. When a client gets excited about progress, I get even more excited!

Matt has been our physical trainer for approximately two & one-half years My husband, George, is 89 yrs old and I, Marian, am 79 yrs old. Matt has improved our physical strength immensely. We see him on Mondays and Fridays. Matt is a great guy. His knowledge of the physical body is immense; there doesn't seem to be any part of the body that he hasn't studied. Therefore he is able to educate us on how best to solve our basic problems and how best to strengthen our weaknesses. For me Matt encourages me to go the extra mile, where I probably would have stopped long ago but he keeps me moving, knowing that I can make the mark. He seems to be proud of my success and that makes me proud of me. And so we just get better and better. My husband fell off a ladder and broke his foot and with Matt's encouragement he came back to par quickly. We love Matt; what a great guy. Besides his knowledge of the human body he has a terrific personality. He brings light and life back into our lives and we look forward to seeing Matt at every session.

Starting with a trainer for the first time can be intimidating but you won't find a better trainer. I started training with Mat around June 2015. I wasn't sure what to except but every session started with him asking how I was feeling. He used that answer to judge how hard he could push me that day. If something hurts or feels tight he knows how to fix it or what stretches to have you do to help. I was very nervous when he said we were going to be focusing on a few main lifts and then add in accessory work. We started with squats, deadlifts, and bench and then added in chin ups and multiple other accessory work based off how I was feeling. Every session I didn't leave disappointed. I started out with a trainer for cosmetic reasons but after starting the lifts and being able to lift more my focus became more about how much weight I could lift and the toned/lean look followed. I fell in love with lifting because of Mat. I even talked my mom and sister into training with him. At the beginning both were very hesitant but after starting they both loved training especially because he offers boxing. I started off training in May 2015 weighing about 115-117 and being able to barely squats the barbell, being able to deadlift maybe 65lbs and benching the barbell. I stopped training with Mat July 2017 weighing 122lbs but looking a whole lot leaner and stronger. Today I can squat over 160lbs, deadlift over 250lbs, bench 115lbs, do 4 body weight chin-ups in a row, and feel more confident walking alone knowing some self defense due to the boxing. If your going to spend money on a trainer this is the person to go to, you won't find a better, more knowledgeable, caring trainer.

Mat is great! He's incredibly knowledgeable and he even helps me with food options to keep me on track with my body goals. When I first started I could barely squat the bar, but now I can squat 140 pounds (which is a big deal because I'm pretty petite) - and we all know squats are what get a good booty! He keeps the workouts interesting by teaching me boxing. He has a down-to-earth personality but still keeps me motivated. I honestly cannot say enough good things about him and the results I've gotten so far!

Mat is extremely knowledgeable about personal training and physiology, which he explains in a easy to understand way. He's a wealth of information about nutrition also. Mat considered my needs and abilities with my knee injury as he designed my personalized program to maximized my potential. I'm very pleased he's my personal trainer.
