FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am always taking classes and researching topics in the field. Looking online for inspiration is one of my favorite parts of the job. I love coming across design aspects that I am unfamiliar with and doing the research to figure out how to do it. There is an endless supply of great design out there, and always ALWAYS more to learn. It makes it fun, and never stagnant.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've jumped around to different careers, and before this spent years in the interior design field. But one day I realized that in my free time, rather than perusing photos of homes and interiors, I was spending most of my time admiring great logos and branding work. I assumed that since I didn't know much about computers I couldn't do graphic design - finally I threw that assumption away and just dove in and taught myself! Best decision I ever made.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
The creative planning and conceptual stage is much harder than the rest! I'm sure many people think actually making the logo or design on a computer is the hard part(and it can be) but it's getting to that point, where you have an image of the final product in your head, that is the real struggle!
