he's great! he makes it seem like he is standing right in front of you. he is willing to listen to what you are saying and will stay late so that you get all the information you need. he always makes sure that you know what you are doing. i used to have (in person lessons) with josh, but know i have skype lessons i think i am learning better know that i am doing the skype lessons with josh. :)

I am currently taking guitar and music theory lessons from Joshua Payne. Over the past three months, he has created custom lesson plans based on carefully identifying gaps in my previous training. I am currently taking guitar lessons with Joshua via Skype. I used to take in person lessons with him before he moved away from me and I continued to get lessons from him. He's fun and creative and is easy to learn from. He also sends music via Skype to practice note reading and transcription. In addition, he assigns things to work on for the next lesson so no time is wasted. My transcribing and listening skills have improved with him and I recommend taking lessons from him!

I have been taking lessons from Josh for a few years now. In that time i have gotten to know josh very well. He loves what he does and he does it well. When hes teaching lessons in person or over skype he makes the most boring things fun and time just seems to fly by. I would recommend him to anyone.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I am a full time professional musician. I've always enjoyed teaching during the day. My students have so much energy and we have a blast studying things together. They're always turning me on to bands I might not have found on my own. I love helping them with their goals with music. It's very, very fun.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work closely with my students and we apply note reading, theory, and ear-training to music they're interested in. I like to emphasize creativity.
