FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I never stop learning in the field of photography, headshots and acting. I read books, magazines, articles, blogs etc as well as listen to seminars and casting directors to always stay up on the current request, trends and info regarding the business of acting and photography. Things are constantly changing and evolving in any business, so I want to be informed and always strive to give what's needed and wanted in my profession. Plus I love it and enjoy learning or reading in the areas I'm passionate about.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always been interested in photography. In fact took my first photo class at 13. Basically, I had sold my restaurants that I owned several years back and while I was looking to start another restaurant I began photographing my son. He showed an interest in acting, so I took his first headshots. From there I began getting request to shoot more kids headshots and portraits and little by little my work began expanding. Eventually talent managers and talent agents began noticing my work and started requesting my services for both headshots and model shots.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The majority of my photography work is headshots for kids and teenagers and model photo sessions for Zed cards and comp cards. I do shoot many adults, but I get a lot of agent request to shoot kids and teen headshots or comp cards. I also get talent manager request to shoot specific photos for young celebrity actors and up and coming child actors who may need publicity photos for their website, magazine articles, facebook, IMDB etc. You can see some of my young celebrity work on http://www.ryanpotter.com and http://bailee-madison.com/.
