Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Aside from our experience, we have easy, relaxed personalities that help place our clients more comfortable in front of the camera. Every photographer has their own style and way of shooting that works best for them. Mine has always been my versatility - I'm just as comfortable working outdoors as I am at our studio. My work is clean, but more importantly, it's consistent in its quality. Even more important is that I'm easy to work with and have the confidence and experience to have a fun time with each shoot. I bring enough equipment to every shoot to handle any logistics situation and having fifteen years of experience means that no matter the situation, I've likely handled it before. Working with a photographer and studio that is licensed and insured adds that extra layer of security for your photography project. Definitely the people! Over the years we've worked with some amazing people and it's a great feeling to know that we've stood side by side with authors, actors and people I've only dreamed of meeting in person!

Deacon is one of the most detail-oriented, skilled product photographers going. By hiring him you really are getting not only one of the very most dedicated, accomplished and professional commercial photographers in LA, you're also getting a first rate stylist (his wife Sarah) and a first rate Art Director (Deacon himself). I've watched Deacon build his world-class portfolio and I know personally how committed he is to perfection and excellence.

If I could give Deacon ten stars, I certainly would! What an absolute pleasure it was to have Deacon photograph for me. He went above and beyond to make sure that I was completely satisfied. He is the epitome of excellence!

I'm speaking here not as a client of Deacon's, but as someone who has been in the field of advertising for over 35 years. In that time I've seen, known, and worked with literally hundreds of photographers. I can honestly say Deacon's work is among the best I've seen. Very impressive technical skills, a very nice eye, and great attention to detail. These are the things that make or break the process of creating an outstanding image. I'd highly recommend him for any type of commercial photographic gig.

FAQs

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Make sure the photographer is good, make sure they are licensed, make sure you like working with them. It boggles my mind when clients hire another photographer simply because their price is a little lower. When it comes to advertising or headshots, quality is what's going to sell. Price shopping is what my mother would call "penny wise and pound foolish". You save a small amount up front, but lose in the end with every sale or every casting you miss. If you're on a budget, be up front about that budget and also be a little flexible as well!

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Photography is a challenge. There's the thought that cameras and Photoshop are so incredible that anyone can do it....until you do it. There's lighting, reflectors, props, styling, there's so much that goes into it that I've often said that the easiest part about being a photographer is actually taking the photo. Everything that comes before and after - that's the work!
