Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. I most commonly shoot actor's headshots and promotional photography. I am an actor as well as a photographer. I've starred in over twenty national commercials and several television and film appearances. The experience in front of and behind the camera has given me a great understanding of what the casting professionals are looking for in a headshot.
I have also been photographing promotional material for Disney for nearly four years now.
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Once you've established that you like the photographer's work, the next most important question in my mind is, "will I be comfortable with this photographer?".
Many photographers leave the client on the other side of the camera alone and without much direction at all. My goal is to never leave the client wondering what to do next in front of the camera. I converse, direct, have fun, and do everything I can to make the experience effortless for the client. From celebrities to corporate clients who have never been in front of the camera, my mission is to make the process easy.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. A photographer's work is a reflection of the photographer himself. I bring my openness, relaxed vibe, and witty humor to mine. I believe this is what keeps actors coming back to me time and time again. There's no bigger compliment than repeat customers, and my business truly thrives on repeat customers and customer referrals.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. I love interacting with people and capturing true reactions and responses. I get a lot of satisfaction from accomplishing what the client and myself set out to accomplish.
Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?
A. My step father was a photojournalist in vietnam. He has a really incredible portforlio. In tenth grade I did a report on his work and shared his battlefield shots with my class. He soon after gave me his Pentax Asahi Spotmatic 35mm camera with his name engraved on it. I enrolled in photography classes in highschool, learned to develop film, make my own custom prints.
Since day one photography has completely fascinated me. It's been a true joy.
