FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been in the real estate industry for many years as an investor, real estate agent and even mortgage originator. When I listed homes or assisted buyers in finding homes, I was always drawn to what the space could look like "if only...". Prior to that, I had always been asked by friends and family to help them decorate and organize their homes throughout the years. I understood that I enjoyed it but I found it to be a draw that I could not resist once I got into real estate as an investor. There was the birth of design as a career.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently completed a small room redesign. It had some challenges because of the layout and door placement. It apparently had been used as a "catch all/ whatever" room. It took some thought and real planning but the design plan was ready in a couple of days. It began from the floor up with everything from floor polishing to painting the walls and in 2 weeks the room was completed with an awesome, contemporary, adult feeling that the space really needed. It really rocked!
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I did not realize this when I started in this field, but beautiful surroundings make people feel more calm and at ease. Calm and ease promotes well being and introspection. We go into places that are oftentimes chaotic, hectic, drab and lifeless and turn them into spaces that people enjoy and want to spend time in. In a way... we spread happiness and that makes me smile.
