Angela, NJ USA - illustration work for hire
Using thumbtack.com was a great move for me as I sought to find a professional illustrator for a cartoon short. My twin children were turning 5 at the time of my writing, and I wanted to send custom invitations of them playing roles in Power Rangers Samurai style. I searched for someone with credentials and experience, and Alexis Estevez showed up with prior Power Rangers drawing experience. As I looked through his portfolio (a great marketing feature through this site), I knew he was the artist for my project. Once making initial contact, I saw that Alexis was professional, attentive, and a problem solver. I gave him my concept, and he made my vision real. There were some creative interpretations that needed to be made...and a few adjustments, and he performed them efficiently. Alexis' communication via e-mail was prompt and courteous. Payment arrangements were as expected, with a 50% deposit prior to start and balance upon completion. Oh, and he was days ahead of deadline. What made this experience even more enjoyable was that he gifted my children a little something special to make his work all the more memorable for my family. I would (and probably will) use Alexis again for my future illustration projects.

Alex was the editor of my film ZOMBIE which recently won Best Short Film (Horror) at the Washington DC Independent Film Festival 2011. It was my first film and Alex was the most collaborative and gifted editor that I ever could have hoped to work with. His expertise and attention to detail and storytelling, make him not only a creative editor, but an exemplary filmmaker in his own right. His unique and subtle approaches to editing my film only helped to elevate the story to a deeper and richer level. I can't wait to see what we come up with together as we embark on the feature version of ZOMBIE next year.

A. Unlike many Multimedia Artists, I am also an excellent freehand Illustrator. I began around the age of five with pencil and paper, which evolved later to an all-digital workflow. When I moved to New York City I developed my creative skills further by learning film directing and video editing. All three crafts: Directing, Video Editing and Illustration have helped me provide more eye-catching options for clients looking to distinguish themselves from their competitors.
A. I have always been a creative person but not necessarily a courageous one. After many unfulfilled years of low-tier corporate office work, I decided to finally take the plunge into creative freelancing. Since then, I have learned much about entrepreneurship and perpetually becoming a better version of myself.
