- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Single subject tutoring is $60 per hour or $575 for ten prepaid hours Standardized test prep (SAT/ACT) runs $75/hr and $700 for ten prepaid hours
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After an initial phone conversation, Par Excellence director Caroline McKenzie e-mails the client a standard contract and student information sheet for review. The contract is our most important document, because it provides for the safety of minor children and the integrity of our tutors. Once signed on, the client may meet with Caroline for a sample lesson. She'll then assign a tutor based on student need, tutor skill, and location. There is no charge for the initial meeting with Caroline. If tutor assignment is immediately clear, no initial meeting is necessary and the first session is charged as a regular session.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The typical Par Excellence tutor has a bachelors degree and several years' classroom experience in one or more subject areas. Most of us hold masters degrees and CA state teaching credentials.
