I am a student at Lackawanna College in Scranton,PA. Scott spoke at my orientation today. I wanted to say thank you so much for coming & that his speech really had a great impact on me. I've been through quite a bit in my lifetime and always say that things are always up to myself to make good or bad. It really is just the beginning for me =] Once again, thanks for coming! I, as well as Lackawanna College really appreciated him taking the time out of his busy schedule and speaking with us.

I've had the pleasure of hearing Scott Greenberg speak on many occasions in both youth and corporate settings and he is truly a gifted speaker. Scott is relatable, funny and really moves his audiences to action. As a recent winner of the Best Customer Service Award for his Edible Arrangements franchise, Scott has proven that he is more than a motivational speaker, he is someone who practices what he preaches in his own business. I highly recommend Scott Greenberg if you are looking for someone to kick start your company to perform at its best.

Wow! That is the first word that comes to mind when I think of Scott Greenberg. For the past several years I have brought Scott in to be the key note speaker for my Rotary Youth Leadership Awards camp. Every year he reaches into the hearts and minds of over 330 17 year old kids and changes their lives forever. Not only is Scott funny, but he has an uncanny way of relating to every demographic! Scott is the centerpiece of our program, and without him, we wouldnt be able to be as effective as we are. It has been an honor and a pleasure to meet and work with Scott. I know that within minutes of first talking with him, you will instantly see why we line up years in advance to make sure Scott is available for our camp. Scott is the epitome of a professional, and I am confident that he will blow your expectations right out of the water. As long as Scott is willing to speak to our kids, Scott has a permanent home with Rotary District 5330 in Southern California!

So last year Scott came to our PA District Key Club Convention as a motivational speaker. When he came out we were all like ugh another one of these. I have never laughed but at the same time been inspired so much in my life!

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Because speakers can make or break an event, it's important to choose your presenter carefully. Look for someone with experience both on stage and in the field. In other words, you want an expert who can also speak. Watch their video, read their testimonials and spend some time with them on the phone to ensure they're worth your group's time. See if they ask you questions to learn about your organization and what your goals are for the event. That's a good sign that they'll customize their program. And make sure they're someone you want to work with.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. I'd like to know how to keep myself motivated during times of change an adversity. I'd also like to know how to keeps others inspired. I'd also want to know how to operate at a higher level, and how I might be getting in my own way. I'd want help improving my work environment and the service my organization provides to my customers.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. How will you prepare to speak to my group?
How will you customize your presentation?
What groups like mine have you addressed in the past?
How long have you been speaking?
What experience do you have to make you an expert on this topic?

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. Buyers should have a clear idea what they'd like the group to get from the presentation. Are they looking for motivation? Information? What are the issues they'd like addressed? They should also know the details of the event, such as date and time of presentation, and what their budget is for their speaker.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Anyone can hang a shingle and call themselves a motivational speaker, so you see all types. I strive for authenticity, and to balance solid content with an entertaining presentation style. This has been my full-time professional since 1993. I've given thousands of presentations and love what I do.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I like getting to know my clients, their organization and their industry. This research is critical for customizing presentations. For me personally, it's an opportunity to learn about many different industries. I really appreciate seeing changes that take place as a result of something they heard in my program. A standing ovation is temporarily great for the ego, but a positive change for an organization and it's members is what really drives me.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. I cut my teeth as a professional speaker presenting to the hardest audiences of all -- teenagers. I gave literally thousands of presentations at high schools throughout North America. They demand humor, charisma and authenticity. I've received countless emails over the years, but one of my favorites came from 16-year-old girl who felt totally inadequate at school. After my presentation, she decided to take more risks. Not only did she get more involved in school, but she asked a boy she secretly liked for two years to go with her to a dance. He went on to become her boyfriend.

Now that I speak to business professionals, I've learned that most of us are still carrying around inadequacy of one kind or another. I try to help people push through this stuff - and to encourage others - so they can get better results and lead more effectively.
