I'm a retired police officer. The only things I knew about music was how to make people turn it down and, that I wished I could play the bass. Three teachers (including a touring pro) and two sold bass guitars. I couldn't get it. My love for the "bottom" made me try it again. When I showed up for my lesson with Dave, I was amazed how this young guy could bring the funk, soul, rock and jazz licks. Current hits and standards. You mention a song and often the notes are already in his head and down to the fingers. Something special you want to play? A song that he doesn't know will become a song that he used to not know. He can get you there. After my first lesson, I knew I had found a bass teacher. A lot of people have the knowledge; not every one can teach it. Tabs, reading, theory, studio work, touring experience, personable, ethical and reliable. It takes work, but you will quickly see that it can be done and that it can be fun. Dave can get you there.

My daughter had the good fortune to connect with Dave for guitar lessons at a private music studio for about 6 months and then we transitioned to private in-home lessons for an additional 2 years. My two sons also took lessons with Dave during that time. Not only is Dave a very talented musician, but he is also amazingly versatile and a gifted teacher. He taught electric and acoustic guitar as well as piano to my children, and worked on a lot of composition and songwriting with my daughter. He even went above and beyond his teaching role to help her record some of her songs. Dave is an excellent teacher - very patient and adaptable with all ages and skill levels, dependable and flexible - a true professional and a pleasure to work with!

Choosing to take lessons with Dave as my teacher was by far the best choice I have ever made in learning how to play guitar. Dave is an amazing player, and had the patience and know how to pass down his knowledge and give me the tools to not only play music, but make my own as well. I strongly recommend taking lessons with Dave, whatever your level or prior experience

Dave is an excellent teacher and guitar player. I have been taking lessons from him for a number of years. When I first began taking lessons from him, I had no experience and could not play at all or read tab, but he taught me how to play both rhythm and lead guitar and how to play many rock/pop songs. More recently, I have been learning classical guitar and how to read sheet music. Learning this aspect of guitar has been more difficult, but Dave is always very helpful and knowledgeable about what I am studying. I would highly recommend Dave’s services to anyone wanting to learn how to play the guitar.

Dave is great! He loves what he does and it transfers over to his student. My son looked forward to meeting with Dave every week and kept him engaged throughout the lesson and more importantly through the week when practicing on his own. He really takes the time to find what the student likes, wants and weeknesses to take them to the next level.
