Music Lessons by Lindsay

Introduction: I am a working musician, specializing in vocals, piano, and violin. I have been teaching music lessons for over ten years in the greater Los Angeles area and have seen my students go on to become very talented and successful musicians. I have been a pianist for 23 years, violinist for 20 years, and vocalist for 15 years. I use a variety of techniques in my teaching that incorporate movement, writing, and a multitude of other art forms in order to create a well-balanced and well- rounded understanding of the instrument and musicality as a whole. I encourage the creative process outside of lessons and will assign projects, as I feel the use of songwriting, notation, and composition promotes a broader knowledge of the musical field and will further the student's capacity and dedication to the instrument at hand. I also feel that this engages the student in a way as to further his or her own discovery. I tailor my teaching practices to the needs of the student and genuinely hope to be a guiding light to whatever musical or artistic path he or she may choose.
