Introduction: Ever since I remember myself, I was passionate about organizing. I always tried to expand my knowledge in this department and learn new ways to improve my skills. Hence I read many books with various "schools of thought" in the organizational realm. In my work I try to combine the KonMari method with other methods introduced by such pioneers like Darryl Hool and Martha Stewart. I love how the combination of all these methods can cater to people from all walks of life, and it fascinates me.
Daryl Hool wrote in her bestselling book "The Ultimate Career": "Do not squeeze into a 5 pound house 20 pounds worth of stuff". I stand by that principle any time of the day. Any item that doesn't apply to my family's life NOW has got to go. From bulkier items like baby tubs, to more compact items like a soft baby blanket to the tiniest of things like an extra nail clipper cannot stay in my house. The reason: we loved on and my family has other needs now and I must accommodate those needs first, and this will take prime real estate in my house. Everything else will be sold or passed on to friends or family who can use it. If there's no customers for that, it will all be donated or sold, or worse, thrown away. Keeping things you no longer need and enjoy is like paying for electricity that runs your refrigerator with spoiled food sitting in it. It's pointless and even harmful to your psyche and your wallet. Do yourself a favor and LET IT GO. Once you do that, your liberated self will enjoy your house so much more, like you never knew you could.
