- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For new customer we offer a free meet and greet. You get to know us and we get to know you and answer nay questions yo may have. Then you either give us a key or provide a lockbox that your walker can access. Your dog walker will bring your QR code on the first walk which you will keep in a location where the dog walker can access it to scan in and out of their appointment.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a background of 2 years of animal behavior certification as well as 10 plus years of dog walking.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got into dog walking after rescuing a dog that had been abandoned at the Silverlake dog park. She had been there for 3 days. She was aggressive and wouldn't let anyone touch her. I slipped a leash around her neck and took her home. She bit my boyfriend and he demanded we get rid of her. I protested and after a few short days she was on her way to becoming a sweet sweet dog. People at the dog park kept commenting on how fast she was changing. One lady mentioned in passing that she needed a dog walker and I stepped up (she is still a client). From there i posted an ad on craigslist and business took off. In 2008 Los Angeles magazine did an article about me and business boomed.
