- What types of customers have you worked with?
Most of the orders customers give me to work with are old black and white originals from the 1950's and date back as far as the mid 1800's. These photographs are usually faded with moderate to heavy flaws that need repair. 19th century tin-types are commonly dark with scratches and pit marks. Regardless of whatever flaws the original photo may have, a fully restored flawless print is made to look as natural as the original photograph.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Customers need to be aware of photo restoration companies who offer their services for a low price. These providers hire inexperienced minimum wage employees to perform various retouching tasks. The quality of their work is not as natural looking as it should be. The restored photos are usually flat looking, and or the original's clarity is lost. Doing business directly with a photo restoration artist will give the quality work you are looking for. Remember, experience is a priceless commodity.
