Introduction: My shooting style is very relaxed and comfortable, I enjoy getting to know my clients and feeling like old friends while shooting. I want my clients to feel comfortable around me; that is when the best moments and emotions are captured by my camera. I also do a lot with very little, I can create moody dramatic images with the right light and some black felt. I love creating timeless images that others will cherish forever.

I hired Mel to take my engagement and wedding photos. I was on a tight budget and Mel gave me great shots for a fabulous price! Everything was outdoor shooting: in the forest, outside a church on a grassy lawn, and in a dimly lit large backyard, not to mention in the rain! Our engagement shoot was about 4 hours long, trekking through trees and bushes. Mel was very laid back but professional and made me and my fiance feel super comfortable! Mel and her assistant shot my entire wedding: the wedding party, family, the ceremony and the reception. The sites chosen weren't as picturesque as others and it was about 8 hours worth of crazy work, but the photos are truly beautiful! I was especially happy with the "getting ready" shots and candid moments during speeches at the reception. As a bride, I was able to focus on what I needed to focus on and rely on the wonderful creativity of this talented woman. I am so happy I chose her to capture my special day.

Mel photographed the baby shower that I hosted and she was a pleasure to work with and I would use her again in a heart beat for any photography needs. She was courteous and professional: arrived early at the location, remained inconspicuous throughout the party, and captured the event perfectly so that we could relive the memories for many years to come. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Because every shoot is different, there cannot be one standard of pricing. I adjust my pricing to fit the individual demands of each shoot.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Before the shoot, I ask many questions about logistics and the specifics of what the customer is looking for so that I can be prepared and best deliver results. While shooting, I like to try to get to know a new customer so that we can feel comfortable around them. I like to chat while they are in hair and makeup, and throughout the shooting process. I give few notes while shooting, but they are specific.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a vocational certificate from Santa Monica College. This training encompassed many aspects of photography: product, people, studio lighting, and photoshop.
