Introduction: I started photographer back in the "film" days. This means I learned real photography technique, where lighting and exposure had to be perfect when the exposure was made - rather than shooting digital, where many just try to "get close" and fix everything with Photoshop. My work for magazines, advertising and even fine art is known internationally. Given the difficulties for photographers in this age of recession and the Internet, I am know working for individual clients as much as for publishers and organizations. When I developed my first role of film and watched the image gradually appear when I put the print into a tray of developer, I got a thrill that has never gone away - even these days when I shoot digitally and no longer have a darkroom. I've done a number of different creative things in my career, but there is still something very special to me about a very effective still photo image. Shooting photos is still the most exciting creative thing I do.
