I provide private piano lessons to all ages and levels. I am happy to teach classical mixed with popular, blues, jazz, etc. I also incorporate music theory into each lesson.
I accompany other musicians, including singers and instrumentalists.

My experience as Natalie's student was fantastic. She is a unique piano teacher in that she emphasizes theory studies along with her piano instruction. Her instruction gives students a strong background in the fundamental harmonic building blocks of music. As I now teach music theory (both as a graduate assistant at the Peabody Institute and as an instructor in theory and composition at the Levine School of Music in Washington, DC), I fully appreciate the strength and importance of Natalie's teaching methods. Many students go through their lessons without theoretical training, which unfortunately means that they often come up against a wall in their later music studies (regardless of specialization...performers need theory, too!). I highly recommend Natalie for her musicality and teaching philosophy.

Natalie is great! She is patient, attentive, timely, efficient, and (most imporantly) a fantastic teacher. I'm an adult learner, and she has always tailored her lessons to me in an easy, relaxed manner with a mind to achieving my goals. I highly recommend Natalie.

I have been a student with Natalie for about 5 years. When I first came to her I was barely able to read a measure of music. My music books were the Bastien books levels 1 and 2. Now I am playing the likes of Massenet, Ravel and Satie. All in 5 years. I cannot believe how far I have come. Reading music is second nature. Natalie is so wonderful and nothing if not encouraging. She never forces a student to learn any one type of music and is open to the students suggestions. She is a wonderful piano teacher.

Our daughter has been taking a lesson from Natalie for a year now. We are so amazed to how patient she is with her, who could sometimes be difficult as any 6 yrs old. A. Look for someone who is professionally certified. I am that person. I have a graduate degree in piano and have kept up my education. I perform regularly and have my students perform in many recitals.
A. Does the teacher has a degree in music/piano? How many years have they been teaching? what levels?
A. What is your background in music? What type of music do you teach? what age and level?
A. It is important to match personalities between the student and teacher. I try to be very flexible in my approach with each student. Sometimes I will get a phone call or email asking what method I use for teaching. I try very hard to individualize each student and choose method books accordingly. I never use just one method. Supplementing these books with classical, favorites, jazz, etc. makes the lessons much more enjoyable and fun!
