Introduction: Nourse by Northwest is a high-end recording studio located in Northeast Los Angeles. At NXNW, I produce, engineer, and play drums for the music that is recorded here. I've performed and recorded with numerous bands and songwriters for over 20 years. Being an engineer, as well as a drummer has given me a "big picture" perspective on music production. At N/NW, I use Sonar X2, which is compatible with virtually any audio format, including WAV, AIFF, Quick Time, MP3, WMA, Export to OMF, and Broadcast WAV for collaboration with Pro Tools and other DAWs.

Shawn is an outstanding musician, recording engineer, & producer. The studio vibe is very comfortable, and is a great conduit for developing & exploring the creative process. Shawn is very much a consummate professional- very knowledgeable about all things recording related, & otherwise. He has a bevy of highly skilled/world renowned studio musicians, who are available almost on call to add just about any tracks or pairing of instruments you can think of. As an engineer & producer, he listens to what you want and intends to get you exactly the results you're looking for. I can't say enough about Shawn, always a great experience. Shawn has been producer, arranger, and musician on several recording sessions I've worked. His demeanor, knowledge, and skills knocked it out of the park every time. He was able to cull ideas out of the songwriter and coax great performances from me to suit the song. I believe that his top notch musicianship drives his ability to make excellent records.
