I have been studying voice with Mary Jo fairly consistently for the last 5 years. All I can say is that this woman is a godsend. Not only is she a phenomenal vocal coach with more knowledge, expertise, and technique than one can imagine, but she's as compassionate and understanding as a therapist, and is also a former masseuse (which really helps with singers harboring tension in the jaw, neck, back, etc.). Additionally, she's especially helpful when it comes to the singing actor who's not just looking to improve or maintain vocally, but theatrically and artistically as well. During the time I have studied with her, my voice has grown and improved in countless ways. My stamina has increased exponentially, along with my range and performance ability. She keeps accurate notes of her students' progress and exercises, and knows exactly how to push me and when. I really cannot sing her praises any higher. She is the best I've ever worked with, and I would recommend her to any professional singer, actor, or anyone looking to delve into the wonderful world of vocal performance.

Mary Jo is absolutely the BEST in the business! Though her specialty is in musical theatre training, I am a singer/songwriter, and she has tailored her technique to work for my needs as a recording artist in the music business. My range, my depth, my tone, AND my confidence, have all taken a 180 degree turn for the better thanks to the last two years with this wonderful woman. Oh, and she's a hoot and a holler and makes every session so much fun and very memorable. Give her a try. I PROMISE you won't regret it two years from now when you can't break away from her :) Thanks M.J.!!

She can hear everything and she teaches you brass tacks techniques that really really make a difference. You have to put in the work but if you are serious about improving your singing she can get you there. My boyfriend was studying with Mary Jo and I was blown away with his undeniable improvement. Now I am studying with her too and I feel so lucky to be able to get this caliber of training! Also, she is incredibly nice and one of those people you feel like you are old friends with the moment you meet her. I can't recommend her enough!

When I attended the Ray Bolger musical theatre program at UCLA, Mary Jo was my voice teacher. Before working with her, I had suffered from hoarseness and perpetual vocal fatigue. She was outstanding at instructing how to heal a damaged speaking and singing voice, and knows countless exercises to help maintain healthy voice habits. After incorporating her warm-ups into my daily routine, I have successfully avoided vocal damage for the past two years. She is also incredibly personable and a joy to learn from!

Mary Jo is an incredible teacher who puts so much thought and care into each lesson. She transformed my understanding of my voice, expanded my range and encouraged me to expand my confidence! She's amazing!
