Studio de Carlos offers the art of photography.

I am a freelance photographer, art director, and music promoter from Hollywood, California, working on music portraits, celebrities portraits, still photos on locations, advertising, and weddings.

My wedding photography style is a blend of photojournalist and romantic portraiture; timeless, creative, fun and relaxed. I always approach each wedding as an art project.

What are they saying about my photography:

“Carlos’ work as a photographer succeeds on many levels. He’s enjoyable to work with, he puts his subjects at ease and he gradually draws out their true personality. Then he captures it with his camera. End result: photos that are undeniable.”

“Pictures that sing long after the music has ended.”

“I booked a shoot at Studio de Carlos in light of a friend’s recommendation and was not disappointed at all. It’s a great studio located in a serene area of the Hollywood Hills and Carlos was an absolute pleasure to work with. He’s funny and passionate about his craft. Most of all, I adore my pictures. The only problem is . . . there are TOO many to choose from!”

“Photography that approaches art.”

“Carlos Roberto Sanchez is a rising star that loves working with rising stars. Whether they are actors or musicians or comedians, he photographs all in the best possible light (pun intended). He’s a master of creating a setting that compliments his subjects, and he has an innate ability to make you forget there’s a camera being pointed at them.”

“Carlos made me look like a star. I seriously want to look like I do in my pictures all the time. Not sure how to make that happen, but I aspire… ”

“My headshots by Carlos always receive compliments — more often than photos I’ve taken with much more expensive and pretentious photographers.. Carlos is affordable and down-to-earth. He can take my picture every day.”

Since the beginning of photography, people have been the photographer's favorite subject. It's important to preserve in photographs the faces that are special to us, and to record memorable scenes and events. The photographs we take capture and record our lives, our successes, and their celebrations. Our photographs are the most treasured possessions.

Question and answer

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. My secret to share is the ROYAL TREATMENT to everybody. All customers are kings and queens, they are all very special and deserve the very best you can offer.
In the past, you were born into royalty and this hereditary right was envied by common folk. Kings and Queens were worshiped. Emperors and Empresses reined supreme over their followers. People would sing the praises of an imperial family and would often shower them with generous offerings.
In the world today, there are new forms of royalty. However, you no longer need to be born into it. These days, it’s often bestowed onto you as a result of what you do in life.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. Well, early on in life, I discovered that happiness is the key to success, and believe that if you love what you are doing, you will be successful. It is inevitable.

I do what I love -- every day.

That is how i decide to become a photographer, an artist of light, full of passion and creative vision, in my hands, a camera is my pallet, brush and canvas.

My love for my photography work has also opened doors for me, granted me access to meet and photograph my favorite people, recording artist -- I am grateful to all of these beautiful individuals for giving me the opportunity to photograph them, to allow me to do what I love, which led to my success.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. Photo Shot with Singer Songwriter Shana Halligan.

Everyone recalls the first time they fell in love. First love is when you adore someone so much, but you don't know how to tell that person how you feel. There are days of bliss, accompanied by heart-wrenching moments, pain, and weeping. Truth be told, there are few things as painful getting over a first love, and when it's over, you're scared to death you'll never find anyone to replace them. Those scars last forever, as this is the person who taught you what it means to fall in love.

I’ve fallen in love several times. I’m still learning, growing, searching, and aspiring to finding true love. And while I can never have a first love again, I did feel that way once again when I met my muse—music.

I adore music and consider it my greatest influence. You will always find my photography studio filled with music. And as it goes with love, I often get infatuated.

I will never forget the day I was given a CD by my beloved first love—the girl that opened my heart before she broke it. The 10-track mix contained a song entitled “Heaven” by Bitter Sweet, It was song number six on the album, and the first thing that struck me was the lovely sweetness of the singer’s voice. Her name was Shana and the lyrics she sang touched my heart like a first love at first listen. I was smitten, falling fast.

That is how I discovered the brilliant and beautiful artist Shana Halligan, a singer/songwriter from Los Angeles whose 5-song EP Paper Butterfly is flying up the charts as it enters the hearts of all who give it a listen.

My love for music has opened doors for me—granting me access to meet and photograph my favorite musicians. That’s how I got the opportunity to meet Shana. We’ve since become friends and I’ve come to realize she’s as beautiful as her music.

Q. Write your own question and answer it.

A. How did you get involve with music?

My love for music has opened doors for me, granted me access to meet and photograph my favorite recording artists, this led to my career as a promoter — a career within which I am flourishing. My passion for music and my respect for musicians motivates me on a daily basis as I endorse and advertise select artists.

My mission statement as a music promoter and photographer is to act as a middleman between the artist and the fans. I aim to bridge this gap with compelling photography that provides ardent supporters with a on stage glimpse of their favorite musicians at work. “We are Powered by the Passions of FANS”

I find that creativity awe-inspiring. For me, what musicians do is both breathtaking and kick-ass. And the creativity, confidence, passion and drive successful musicians exude motivates me.
