In the nine years that Katie worked at Thomas Dunne Books and St. Martins Press, she's edited a savvy array of authors whose sense of language, style and humor continues to inspire and impress. Their range of fiction spans the gamut; from bookclub-beach-reads, to Giller-prize nominated story collections. Her titles have included mysteries, historical novels and the occasional foodie memoirbut mostly she's helpless against the voice of a quirky character, or insanely great writing that leaves her in tears (be it humor or poignancy-induced). Katie attended Smith College and later, the Columbia Publishing Course.
