Introduction: Ritual movement arts or RMA is an innovative blend of hatha yoga, temple fusion, belly dance and ritual theater. Since 2008, ritual movement arts founder and instructor, Aradia Julia Sunseri, teaches workshops and woman's retreats with focus on the meditative aspect of temple belly dance, infused with yoga and ritual theatre. These will awaken the body's natural wisdom and ecstasy of expression. As a certified yoga instructor, Aradia weaves aspects of yoga into the practice to enable participants to dive deeper into their dance, archetypal embodimentand gain an overall sense of peace. We are focusing on dancing from the core, and opening the body with yogic principles to deepen your connection to your dance with presence fluidity and slinky theatrical moves. We will be exploring intricate mudras and choreography while activating the creative soul seat of each individual's personal transformative power. Tune-in with your inner goddess and the art of storytelling through the eyes, hips and heart. These practices offer connection to one's own essence, and cultivate enjoyment of the body in motion while sharing in a community of sisterhood. With focus on: - Inner yoga - Isolation, drills, layering - Theatrical presence and accents - Expression of story and emotion through movement Philosophy: Ritual movement art focuses on meditation, and creative self-expression, which embodies a blend of classical hatha yoga. The yogic practice enables participants to dive deeper into their dance, and gain an overall sense of peace. Intentional movement gives us a vehicle to move out of our heads and into hearts and bodies. We can then experience our authentic feelings, both our dark and light selves. This enables practitioners to attain awareness and inner stillness in motion. Aradia honors the awareness and divine nature of the lineages that have carried these teachings and practices from indigenous cultures all around the world. As a certified yoga instructor and devoted student, she actively studies several forms of yoga such as: * Temple dance * Tribal fusion belly dance * Feldenkrais method * Somatic healing * Integrated movement therapy In 2008 to present, students have enjoyed her workshops in Hawaii, Mexico, San Francisco, New York, Vashon Island, Oakland, Los Angeles, Mt. Shasta, Florida, Boulder, Seattle, Vancouver, BC, Portland and Berlin. Aradia is available for performances and to teach workshops at retreats, festivals, corporate events, healing centers and private events.
