I would highly recommend Richard for ANY of your photography needs! He shot photographs of my two children at the beach and I couldn't be happier with how they turned out! He was on time, professional and engaging with my two teenagers who were not too keen on getting their photos taken. He loosened them up, made them laugh, and was all around awesome! I plan to hire him for a big 50th birthday party coming up soon as well!

I hired Richard to do a corporate group photo in Hermosa Beach. Richard took the time to meet me at the venue in the weeks prior to the event to scout the best location. The photos came out great and everyone enjoyed receiving the photo as a memento of the event. Richard can handle a group of any size. He's fun and gets everyone involved. I was so impressed with Richard's work that I hired him to shoot my husband's 50th Birthday Party and we couldn't have been happier with the results. Richard is highly creative and organized. Major plus was his quick response time and making the photos available in a timely fashion. Thanks Richard!

Richard was excellent to work with. Friendly, punctual and skilled, he was the perfect photographer for my daughter's 3rd birthday. As anyone with a young child knows, capturing good moments with finicky little ones can be a challenge and Richard approached the task with a great attitude. Thanks again!

Richard is a fantastic photographer, super professional and really fun. He photographed my wedding with such a creative eye and gave me a strong collection that documented my entire day to its fullest. The photos are classic as well as spontaneous and beautiful. The best part of working with Richard is he does not make it tiring or disruptive to be photographed, but instead, it's as if your friend is just celebrating each moment with you.

Richard is very professional and creative. He had an excellent command of the space to create unique shots that others could have easily missed. He has built a strong rapport with the group so everyone felt comfortable. What I appreciated was also Richard's diligence to scope out the site before the shoot. He came well prepared and his turn around for the proofs was quick! Recommend 100%!

We used Richard Hartog for a very quick headshot shoot for an executive. Richard was very professional, easy to work with and produced great results. We had an aggressive timeline – less than 24 hours to contract Richard, shoot and see proofs and the shots turned out very well. We were very happy with the shots and would highly recommend Richard Hartog.

I had the privilege of having photos taken by Richard that were extremely sentimental to me... to remember my precious dog, Stevie, that I was to put to sleep just weeks after our shoot. I am a young stage 4 Metastatic breast cancer patient and adopted my little Stevie girl, who was a "special needs" dog that just needed love and happiness before the angels came to grace her with her next journey. I knew when I adopted little Steive that she did not have long left to live. But then again, I heard the same thing myself. We both had Stage 4 Bone disease and were not given long. I have survived six years now when docs said I would not survive a year. And the vets gave Stevie about 3 months. She survived 6 months. It was one of the hardest days of my life, to let my little fur baby go... but, she was in too much pain and it was time. Thankfully, I reached out to Richard weeks before to set up a beach shoot so that I could have pics to treasure and cherish of being blessed to know little Stevie, and the honor of loving her during the time we shared together. Richard captured beautiful moments that I will never forget now... and it's all because of the quality of photographer he is as well as being a quality human being that truly understands how to snap a moment of feeling that makes others feel just by looking at the photos. And that's what capturing a moment is all about.
Highly recommend Richard and his brilliant and dedicated work. He gave me one of the most valuable gifts I could receive. Another priceless memory.

Richard was such a pleasure to work with. He took some close ups of my patients for my website as well as a few headshots for my daughter. Not only is he professional, but he also has a great sense of humor, making the whole process an enjoyable experience. I am so happy with the final products and I would recommend him to anyone and everyone.

Richard Hartog was a pleasure to work with. I went to him after my manager reccomended his services for my headshots. Richard was friendly and funny which really helped me loosen up for the shoot. He spent the entire day, from the afternoon to sunset, working to get me the perfect shots. He didn't worry about running over time or keep track of the amount of "looks" we shot. The end product was countless amazing photographs that I have been able to use for a variety of projects, including my current Facebook picture. Richard really has an eye for this and I am so glad I went to him!

Richard with Richard Hartog Photography is highly recommended. Richard was a very easy person to interact with and do business with. Hired for a recent fundraiser, he was very responsive, punctual and most importantly understanding to the needs of a busy venue, which included close to 2,000 people and their pets. His turnaround time in producing and uploading images was an additional plus, and his images speak a thousand words. Most impressed.

My wife, Teresa, and I were fortunate enough to have Richard Hartog as our wedding photographer. Richard was nothing other than professional, endearing, and added a sense of humor to our amazing day. Richard has an eye for detail and had the ability to see our wedding experience the way we envisioned it. At the church, he captured the ceremony beautifully while remaining stealth and considerate of the event. He arrived at the hotel early that day to take shots of the bride and bridal party getting ready and stayed until the last guest had left the reception late that evening. We received the photo package within only a few short days and they were perfect. Richard took well over 500 photos for us capturing every detail of the entire day. Even months after the wedding, Richard still keeps in contact with us to see how we're doing and how married life is treating us. We will recommend Richard Hartog to anyone who is looking for an amazing photographer!

Richard's work is simply amazing. He took beautiful head shots of our three kids and they have been getting auditions like hot cakes ever since. The way he handles kids is wonderful and actually very touching. He brings out the best in his subjects with calm and .....tons of humor. I highly recommend him to anyone.

Richard was one of the best photographers my family, friends and I have ever worked with in over 30 years of throwing events, weddings and birthdays. He was professional, on-time, felt the vibe of the event (even dressed the part). He had the proofs ready in a timely fashion. I will plan on using him again. He also gained many referrals from my event alone as he was one of the stars.

In this order- Headshots, maternity, and baptism... these were the 3 times I have hired Richard. I cannot wait to hire him for my wedding. Let me just keep this simple. I have worked with many. Never has there been a time it was more fun, fulfilling, exciting, eventful, professional, easy, and worthwhile among other things. I have always kept my endorsements to myself but being consistent 3 times in a row over a 2 year period is hard to come by. Richard is so efficient and also cares a great deep about his work and what "he puts out there". A true artist who brings the most precious moments to life. I cannot get enough of looking at our photos. Not to mention all the compliments I receive on his work when people ask "who was the photographer?" Thanks to him, our memories will be timeless and beautifully captured. Enough said, hire the guy and save yourself the trouble and disappointment of someone else.
