FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I absolutely do! Most importantly, I belong to the PPA - Professional Photographers of America - where I recently earned the designation of CPP - Certified Professional Photographer. Certification is not required, it is just a step I took to continue my education as a photographer, and to assure current and potential customers that I am doing everything I can to be the best photographer I can be. The PPA offers a huge amount of educational opportunities throughout the year, both locally and online. I also belong to several forums for professional photographers. We learn from each other, bounce new ideas around to keep our work fresh, and support each other. I also attend online seminars and workshops. I have also attended workshops in Sacramento and San Francisco that have allowed me to learn a great deal about my profession. I have always loved learning new things, and that is more true than ever when it comes to photography!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Since I was a little kid I have always loved photography. I guess you could say I fell into the field when my parents bought me an old 1960 35mm camera for $50 at a yard sale. When I went to college to pursue my degree in photography and learned more about the field I knew this is where I wanted to be for a job and loved every minute of it.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The most common types of jobs I do are maternity, pet, newborn, and family portraits. I most often shoot at the clients home for the maternity and newborn but do on location shoots of clients choice for other sessions.
