Sharon and her watercolor classes are the best thing I have found in the Bay area. I have been commuting to the area from Colorado for work and was feeling the need for some art and creativity in my life. I found Sharon and have been taking private lessons. It has been perfect. She has provided the supplies which is great since I am traveling and the private lessons are perfect since I can't fit a routine class into the erratic schedule.
Her teaching style is great because you can't do anything wrong, it is all part of the creative process. So you always feel successful, where else can you find that? Check out her classes, you won't be disappointed.

I had a private class recently with Sharon and was quite amazed by her knowledge and patience! I am new to watercolors and needed some basic information! I got that and more from Sharon! It was so worth my time and money to visit her studio!

A. Beginners or near-beginners, or people who have kept trying and trying watercolor and feel that they keep being beginners. When you take watercolor painting classes with me, you'll be learning skills and techniques while having fun making paintings – and often you won't even realize the skills you're picking up, until one day you're approaching your painting and you realize "I can do that!", and you're not a beginner anymore! I also teach continuing students who want a fresh approach, or want to loosen up and try new things, getting "unstuck", and branching out.
A. Try out some classes. I have experience as both student and teacher, and it takes some time to realize when you have a really really good teacher. That's what I aspire to – being your really, really good teacher! That takes dedication, and raising the bar, expecting a lot from you WHILE it's fun and enjoyable. You don't always realize what you're getting in a class. There's so much to learn, so much I have available to teach you! Let's get started!
A. Experienced watercolor artist AND teacher. With many years of experience I've developed and adapted ways to teach people to make the watercolor painting and learning experience easy and fun. Learn while you're painting, having a good time, and developing your own style. Many different approaches, depending on the student's learning style and what the student wants to learn.
A. My painting students are what I love most about being a watercolor painting teacher. I love assisting and guiding people to find their own artistic "voice", and creating lessons that work around what they need to learn so they can paint in a way that they love.
A. People ask "Can I really learn to paint? Isn't watercolor hard?" I answer that, yes, you can learn to paint! I have many fun and easy ways to learn the skills and techniques. And, watercolor asks us to be present, enjoying what we're doing, and flexible. We don't cover over "mistakes" – we adapt them, flow with them, and turn them into beautiful opportunities.
