Reviews for Heidi Howell Writing Services:

Very high quality writing
"Heidi wrote and project-managed our marketing brochure, inserts and newspaper ads. She's dependable; I knew from the first time I talked to Heidi that her word was as good as gold. She exceeded my expectations. She is the perfect combination of thoroughly professional and totally relatable. She took the time to get to know my business before creating a brochure to represent our agency. She is very easy to talk to. I couldn't believe how responsive she was during this project. Her customer service skills are excellent. I'm glad I was smart enough to hire Heidi. I ended up with a very high quality product. I would cheerfully recommend her. It makes a lot of sense to pay people to do what they know how to do so you can concentrate on what you know how to do.
– Bill Meenk, Founder/Executive Director, Safe Harbor Family Services, Inc.

Made my job easier
"Heidi! You are AWESOME! You did such a great job on the stories and are such a pleasure to work with. I know things are always busy and rushed, but I wanted to let you know you made my job on this project so much easier!"
– Amber Capulin, Creative Manager, The Modesto Bee

Successful business launch
"Heidi's exceptional project management helped me launch my new business. She's written and art directed my newspaper ads, eblasts, building signage, business cards and website. Heidi is always there when I need her. Her work is impeccable and she has always completed things on time. She is a professional but is also kind, understanding, patient and fun to work with. If you want someone who is very competent to handle your advertising, she will be there to take care of it for you. When my friends or associates need professional writing services, I pass Heidi's name along without fail. I am so glad she found me and I found her.

Staff loves working with Heidi
"Heidi has prepared text for our website, which was featured in Practical Accountant magazine. Most of the items mentioned in the article came directly from Heidi’s design input. She completes projects accurately and on time, keeps our website fresh, and responds quickly to our requests. She always seems to be able to put into words exactly what we need. Most significantly, the staff loves working with her. Heidi consistently produces excellent work of the highest quality. We have recommended her to others and will continue to do so in the future!"

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Recently, I've done a lot of web content, newspaper ads, brochures and press releases. I can write almost anything a client needs, as long as it is legal and ethical.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. My text is clear and understandable to a wide, diverse audience, and my style is friendly, upbeat and conversational.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. They like my work and want to know if I'm available on an hourly or weekly basis. Yes, I produce recurring projects for companies, such as newsletter articles, press releases and web bios. I also help busy marketing departments that are on deadline and need an extra pair of eyes to edit/proofread and assist with last-minute writing.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. I wish they knew what a big help an experienced writer can offer their department – for a fraction of the cost of an employee. I am an off-site, remote writer who learns so much about my regular clients that I become a valued team member. I also wish potential clients knew that thanks to technology, my office location doesn't matter. I deliver the same top quality services to local and national clients alike.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I wrote for an ad agency, a construction company, a health and nutrition company, and a newspaper, so I offer a wide variety of writing, editing and concepting experience. As a freelancer (off-site, remote), I've covered many, many topics. I also do tag lines, slogans and product naming. I decided to enter this field because I have a knack for writing clear, concise and easy-reading copy.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. I helped a client launch her new gift shop, with services including newspaper ads, business cards, postcards, website, eblasts, signage, articles and project management. She's been very successful, thanks in part to my publicity services.

Q. What is your greatest strength?

A. Friendly, professional, thorough, easy to work with, responsive to emails and calls; I care about my clients and want them to achieve success!

Q. Write your own question and answer it.

A. What are your areas of expertise?
Ads, brochures, catalogs, newsletters, press releases, web content and more. See http://heidihowell.com/services.html for a complete list. I offer the same great ideas, writing and editing as an advertising/PR agency – at much more reasonable costs.

Q. Write your own question and answer it.

A. What topics have you covered?
Nutritional supplements, tactical clothing, underground boring equipment, property management, accounting, church building, law enforcement, home design, Carol Channing, food reviews, cultural weddings, real estate, health & beauty, direct sales, weight loss, jewelry and more.

Q. Write your own question and answer it.

A. What topics/projects are you least likely to accept?
Technical pieces, annual reports and marketing plans, but I have taken on semi-technical work. The good news is, virtually everyone can read and understand my text.
