Thank you for clicking on us.

Here is a brief description of my career path in construction:

George started his career in construction as a journeyman carpenter in 1997 at the age of 16. Through the years, George participated as an understudy for several well-known contractors, learning every aspect of the trades.

In 2007, and now well versed and with 10 years under his belt in the construction industry, he decides to venture off on his own. He started "Dependable Home Services" as a local handyman servicing the Greater Bay Area while studying for his California State contractor's license. He then created a new division of the company called DHS Construction.

With this new division of the company, DHS now takes pride in working with Bay Area residents on bringing homeowners' dreams to a reality with the utmost quality backed by high standards and attention to detail. Together, George and his team of subcontractors and suppliers have provided many happy customers with high-end remodels and renovations on a referral basis only.

I would love the opportunity to speak with you about your needs. Please feel free to contact me!

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. I most often do kitchen and bathroom remodels. Next on the list would be room additions and new home construction.

I also provide a design service which would allow a customer to work with me from drawings to final inspection!

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. When thinking about bringing someone in your home to give you an estimate, you should always ask for their contractors license number so that you can check it prior to the visit.

Did you know that every contractor has to submit a copy of their background to the state prior to even taking the state test? It's a good thing. This way a convicted thief cannot obtain a license as well as many other criminal types. That's the last type of person you want to invite into your home.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Ask for a contractors license number. Every contractors license number can be checked with the Contractors License Board for claim activity and status.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I work exclusively with the finest craftsmen and materials and i am personally involved in every aspect of my projects. This attention to detail is what truly makes us great.

One of our greatest assets is the level of craftsmanship, experience, and dedication our team brings to each project. We have learned that integrity, attention to all details and honesty each step of the way, makes the best working environment for everyone.

We like to get to know our customers on a first name basis. We treat you like one of the family. On each job we will listen to your wishes and needs, so ultimately you end up with exactly what you envision in your remodeling project.

Our mission is:

* To perform for our customers the highest level of quality construction services at fair and market competitive prices.
* To ensure the longevity of our company through repeat and referral business achieved by customer satisfaction in all areas including timeliness, attention to detail and service-minded attitudes.
* To maintain the highest levels of professionalism, integrity, honesty and fairness in our relationships with our suppliers, subcontractors, professional associates and customers.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. There is a lot to like about what i do for a living but there are three things that stand out the most.

1. Being a craftsman is rewarding. With only your hands, you can create masterpieces that will be around for decades.

2. Aside from the trade aspect of my job, i also enjoy the business side of what i do. Running and managing a project is a daunting task and if not managed properly, a lot can go wrong. I take a lot of pride in every aspect of what i do.

3. People, i love people. I have great people skills and enjoy working with the client from start to finish. The smiles on customers faces are sometimes more rewarding that the proceeds.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. It was an easy decision. From day one i was either building something or taking something apart to see how it worked. I knew from a very young age that i wanted to be in construction.
