The Ukulele and Soul Diva
I had just started playing music professionally and was asked to perform with a ukulele group for a memorial service. It was my first paid gig that wasn't a show, and I learned so much from the other players that day. They told me that in their city, the ukulele is in high demand. People loved the instrument's sound, its history, and more. I decided to start booking private events to help fund studio time and travel expenses for my public shows.
Brit Rodriguez shares that explaining to her clients about her different types of ukulele music is an electric Tenor Multiuse, and she plays a lot of R&B and does not sound like the typical ukulele enthusiast. However, she enjoys the idea that her clients always vary, keeping the excitement present.
As a musician, it is very hard to move past the stereotype of being unorganized/unprofessional. I communicate with my clients every step of the way so that no one is stressed over the musical aspect of their event. I also make sure to ask lots of questions in our first meeting so that I can gauge what kind of performance I'm going to give.
Among her many successful projects, her most favorite was singing God Bless America for American Legion. Her client was very satisfied that she was hired for other projects after it. Another evidence of her unquestionable talent and skills.
If you want entertainment that will surely rock your event, better book Brit Rodriguez now.
