Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Detailing.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. My father has been teaching me how to wash cars properly since I was fifteen years old. I started doing my own work two years ago - so, seven years of experience.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. They should know how long they will be able to part with the car, and whether they have a water source at their house. Aside from that, it is very straightforward.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love seeing the way people react to their car once it has been finished, especially when people shield their eyes because they are blinded by the reflection in the paint.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. "How much do you charge?" - $40 for cars, $50 for trucks and SUVs.
"When would be a good time?" - Whenever is convenient for you.
"Do I have to bring my car to you?" - No, I can do it at your house, as long as there is a water source.
"How long does it take?" - Generally around two hours. I like to make sure it has been done well. Larger cars take a little longer.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. I remember detailing a car for a teacher who I had known from middle school. Once she saw her Alfa Romeo clean and waxed, she let out an ecstatic cry. She even let me take her pride and joy for a short drive afterwards. It isn't the only time that has happened, but stands out because I was able to see how much she loved her car and the appreciation she had for a clean automobile.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I love automobiles. I love it even more when I see other people happy with their cars. I try to help them like their cars a bit more.
