Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. I worked at Kay’s Collective in Oakland, where I specialized in cutting hair according to each client’s personalized color harmony, focusing on facial structure and hair textures that create balance and complement each person’s unique beauty.
I also worked as a Paul Mitchell Educator for nine years and has worked at many Paul Mitchell Hair Shows. I traveled through out California as an educator and was trained by top Paul Mitchell educators such as Jean Braa, Robert Crowmeans, and the Chadwicks.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. “ I love bringing out each client’s inner beauty and helping people feel great about themselves. I’m committed to each client being positively transformed.”
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. How is the condition of my hair?
Can you recommend the best hair products for my hair type?
Do you have any hair color suggestions?
Can we do something different and can you make me look ten years younger?
My answers are, I first educate my clients about their hair. Then I give options on what is best for them specially for color suggestions. What is their budget, when it comes to color. Are they planning to come more often or not?
Excellent service is important to me. I follow up on new customers and clients about their hair service if they have any questions about their new hair style.
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. I started cutting hair when I was 12 years old. My mother used to baby sit kids at our house. I gave one of the girls a Farrah Fawcett feather cut, which was very popular in the 70's. Her mother loved her haircut and asked me if I could cut her husbands hair.
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. Yes, it's very important to stay up on the latest fashion hairstyle. I take 4 classes per year and attend Hairshows.
