Introduction: I am an experienced teacher to support your child or young adult in learning life skills. I am a life skills teacher for kids and adults with learning and developmental disabilities. Life skills include the following: * learning public transportation * hygiene * cooking * handling purchases and budgeting money * safety and emergency training * social and communication skills I engage them in physical exercise, as well as in the community through classes and other field trips and activities. Other goals and objectives of your choosing can be integrated. I have been working with kids as well as young adults and adults with disabilities for over a decade in a variety of setting, including public schools and non-profits. My recent awards are: * 2008/2009 - The President’s Call to Service Award (USA Freedom Corps). “Highest award in the United States you can receive for service work.” This award was received for volunteer work with the American Red Cross. Three students I’m coaching with developmental disabilities also won the award. * 2009 Certificate of Appreciation (volunteers of America Bay Area health services) I am open to working one-on-one with your child or young adult.
