Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I am a musician. I perform and teach private lessons in the East Bay area, at my home studio located in Hiller Highlands near the Caldecott Tunnel. I have studied piano since the age of 4. I have my degrees with study in performance, theory, harmony, and music history geared specifically for piano from both Williams Conservatory and the prestigious Tucuman National Conservatory of Music, where I was given my diploma and the title of "Professora de Piano" in my native Argentina. I am a concert pianist, classically trained with over a decade of experience in performing with the Argentine National Symphony of Buenos Aires and in the most prestigious venues across Latin America. I teach in the traditional method and with attention to the basic principles of hand position, fingerings, technique, and reading music. I am very good with children (check my reviews). I would like to help those who are serious about piano and have the interest and desire to increase their ability to play and understand the instrument and its music.

I am so glad that I finally found the right teacher for my five year old girl. My daughter has been plyaing piano for almost 2 years. It is very natural that her text book went more advanced as time passed by, but sadly my daughter's teqnigue never made a progress. Her arm and hand being so stiff, did never make a good piano sound. I started searching for someone who can fix her problem. Marta was it! She starts with detailed basics such as chair adjustment, hand/arm position, fingering positon, and most importantly, relaxed shouder - finger technique along with music theory. My little girl made a remarkable improvement just in a few weeks! Not only removing my daughter's tension, but also her understanding of theory has made a great progress. Marta is an international concert pianist, who is always busy for preparing her next concert. (Concerts are constantly on going) Despite her tight schedule, Marta takes excellent care of my little girl. She is a "willing to teach a beauty of music" person. She gives not only music instructions, but also love and passion. She knows how to make little ones to learn music with delight. My daughter and I just love everything about Marta. I promise you will fall in love with her once you meet her. She is not just a piano teacher. She is a very special someone who you can open your mind. Marta is solely amazing.

Marta is an outstanding teacher: She is not only a fabulous artist, she also knows how to guide her students with the technique and musicality, and she gives them the support they need. I feel really privileged to study with her

Ms Marta is an outstanding pianist and teacher. Wonderful with kids, puts them at ease and truly inspires and motivates them to do their best. She puts in her heart and soul into music and kids cannot help imbibing that joy of music from her. My 7 yr old who used find her previous piano classes stressful, now practices on her own because she is eager to show off her improved performance to Ms Marta each week. My daughter enjoys piano thanks to Ms Marta and carries over that same happy disciplined work habits to other activities as well. I feel very lucky to have her mindful influence on my daughter. It is a beautiful experience to see her fingers fly on the keys.

My 7-year-old daughter started her first piano lesson last winter with Marta. She loves her time spent with Marta. Not only Marta introduced notes, chores and finger technics, she also showed my daughter how to enjoy a music piece. She even invited us to her concert. She is full of passion. We are very luck to have her.

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Well, what I do depends on each particular students needs so the exact details of what I do for each student varies. In general I want to make the learning fun so the student will want to do the work needed and I will always stress the importance of a good technical foundation. I also include imformation about the history of the piano, composers, and the great pianists of the past and today. Comparison of different styles is important to understanding and learning! I enjoy passing on to my students the best techniques for piano and wish to help those who are serious about learning all they can about the instrument and the music!

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Find the best instuctor you can...we know of music schools who are using piano instructors who have never played piano themselves...how much can they possibly know about piano? Of course, knowing and teaching are two different things but nobody can teach what they themselves don't know. From a very young age I was taught by some of the best instructors in Argentina. I now wish to pass on to my students the knowledge I have gained from these instructors and my extensive performance experience. Piano has been what I have done all my life from the age of 4 to the present...I have had no other job!
