Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I offer private and small group sewing lessons from my North Oakland studio which is a 7-minute walk from MacArthur BART and an easy on/off to I-580. I've taught sewing for 22 years to thousands of students, and together we've worked on projects ranging from bathing suits to quilts. I specialize in beginners! My students say I"m patient and thorough. I keep my classes small (8 students or less) so you get a personalized instruction experience. Getting to know my students and helping them learn skills they didn't think they could learn. It's gratifying to watch a student's face light up as they discover a new technique and master it!

Really enjoyed the "Intro to the Machine" sewing class and it taught me what I wanted to learn to get comfortable with basic tasks on a sewing machine that used to seem so daunting. It inspired me to buy my own sewing machine and start on some projects!

I started part 1 of a 2 part Knock Off Course. We are learning to make a pattern from an old garment. So far I’ve learned a lot about pattern making! I’m really happy I was able to replicate a dress I love! I now have a pattern. Next week we start sewing. The instructor is very knowledgeable; she engaged us into various learning moments from each students project. I look forward to additional classes.

Details: Intermediate • 45 - 64 years old • Once a week • 60 minutes • Monday • Tuesday • Saturday • Sunday • Evening (after 6pm) • On an ongoing basis • As soon as possible • Conducting initial research • I travel to the sewing instructor

Diana's Intro to the Machine sewing class was informative and great value! The small group (6 total) class was a perfect size: large enough that I could learn from others' questions, yet small enough to ensure that we all got individual attention when needed. I left with a far better understanding of sewing machines and the basic techniques required to sew a first project like an envelope-style pillowcase. I'll be back for the next intro series Garment Sewing where I can't wait to attempt a pattern and sew my first piece of clothing!

Details: Beginner • 26 - 44 years old • No, but the student is planning to purchase one and would like the teacher's advice on it • 60 minutes • I travel to the sewing instructor • The sewing instructor travels to me
