Children's Characters For Parties

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. When hiring a character its good to ask questions like "how old is my performer" "can I see a picture of the costume and or performer", "is my performer experienced". Also it never hurts to ask for the best performer on staff to be your performer. Also some of our characters sing so if you request a singer you can get that extra for no extra charge.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. When calling, emailing or looking to book a party we need the following information:
Character you are looking to hire, Date of your party, Time of your party, and what area in San Diego your party will be located.
You also need to be prepared to put down a 50% deposit.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. We are the only San Diego Character company owned and operated by Preschool teachers! Because of our background you will find we are not like other companies that just show up to your party and are part of the atmosphere. We play and entertain your group with age appropriate games that make your experience with our characters memorable. This is why so many of our customers come back to us year after year. This is also why we have won NICKELODEON'S PARENT PICK award for BEST children's entertainer 2 years in a row!!

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. As the owner of this great company I have always enjoyed both entertaining and children. This is why I have a degree in both musical theatre and early childhood development.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. How old are your performers because the last party I went to their performers were way too old to be doing this?
-We only hire high school and college theatre students! They all are seasoned performers and proven responsible.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. One customer called to apologize for a little boy who had attended their little girl's tinkerbell party. He had fallen madly in love with our performer and wouldn't let go of her for the majority of the party.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. When dealing with kids you can't plan everything to the last second. Kids like structure but you have to be willing to go with the flow as well. So when someone asks what we'll be doing at a party they need to be comfortable if it doesn't always happen in that order or time frame due to the nature of playing with kids. The performers main goal is to make sure the kids have a great time.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. My first degree is in Musical Theatre and my second degree is in Early Childhood development. In between getting the two degrees I worked in a staffing office interviewing and placing people in jobs. I also have a family member who is a professional seamstress. So when a friend of mine told me about a party that she went to that had a beer belly Spiderman with an interesting accent show up I knew I could do a lot better. So with all of my background and resources I felt I was uniquely primed to own a company that used all of my previous skills.
